Since 2000, China has successfully launched 3 "Beidou navigation test satellites" and built the Beidou navigation test system. This system has the localization, in the range of China and its surrounding areas in the timing, message and GPS wide area differential function, and has been in the mapping, telecommunications, water conservancy, transportation, fishery, exploration, forest fire prevention and national security and other areas to gradually play an important role.
The space section of Beidou satellite navigation system under construction in China is composed of 5 geostationary satellites and 30 non geostationary satellites. It provides two ways of service, namely open service and authorized service. The open service is free location, speed and time service in the service area. The positioning accuracy is 10 meters, the timing accuracy is 50 ns, and the speed accuracy is 0.2 M / sec. Authorization services provide more secure positioning, speed measurement, time service and communication services and system integrity information to authorized users.
China plans to launch two Beidou navigation satellites in early 2007, which will meet the needs of users in China and its surrounding areas for satellite navigation system in 2008. It will also conduct systematic networking and testing, and gradually expand to the global satellite navigation system.
